Food: Fourth of July Healthy Eats

I love a good picnic and although San Francisco is not ideal during the cold-foggy summer months to be outside, we the locals make every effort to drive across the Bay Bridge, or That Golden one to gather with family and friends for a good-old fashioned picnic – holidays or not. But since tomorrow is July 4th – I figured I’ll share what I’m planning on making-eating somewhere a drive away from the city:   {source for featured image}

High Protein Recipes I can’t get enough Of

My regime is something like this. Get up at five every day, drink 16oz of bottled water. Work out at home or gym, and then proceed with my day. Breakfast consists of oatmeal or 2 boiled eggs and a cup of espresso.  Then snack at nine, yogurt or a fruit or a handful of almonds. Lunch is about the proteins, and dinner sometimes a protein drink or a freshly pureed juice with fruits  and veggies.  A sliver of dark chocolate if I crave it, and more water throughout the day. I don’t deviate much from the plan  no matter how tempting. Only if I am at a special event or on vacation do I make exceptions.  So I am glad to have found this amazing blog, where I go to for all of my recipes, outside, of course, from all of my mediterranean cooking.

healthy recipe: appetizer or a snack spinach and goat cheese pastry

There are days I don’t want to eat dinner. I simply want to snack on cheese, crackers, olives and a glass of wine. Of course with a classic film playing on the tube. As always while I search for ideas to try something new, I stumble upon recipes which I feel the need to share. A prime example of the one below – click the photo to get to the recipe. {source}
