photography: shades of blue in san francisco

A month or so ago, as I went for my usual walk near SeaCliff (hint hint) I noticed there was a calming blueness to the scenery, the light effects from the sun playing tricks to my eyes. I have to say I was mesmerized, snapping over fifty photos to capture the beauty of it all, with some to share here:   {photographs are the property of rawsilkandsaffron and cannot be borrowed without prior consent}

transforming a city: san francisco

In the last year or so, while attempting to escape the office during the lunch hour, aiming  to find solitude, I have realized as I walk the pavement that at this very moment, there isn’t any in downtown San Francisco. The city is going through a transformation, well planned for decades ago and one I hope to see or experience before I retire and move to the suburbs. There is construction everywhere, noise pollution intolerable, driving unbearable and yet, through each phase of renovation or new building erection or simply a makeover,so far most of the work is esthetically pleasing . The big regret is, I should have taken before and after photos of all that’s been done so far, transforming this great city I live in.

the benefits of coastal living

Despite the fog throughout most of the summer in San Francisco, there are occasional days when the sun breaks through and everyone in the city heads out to the coast, just to get a glimpse of the ocean. Lucky for me, this once in a blue moon event happened on Saturday past and I was able to go on my usual walk along the coast and capture some breath taking photographs with my cell phone (of course). {click on the first photo to view the slide show and remember the photos are the property of http://www.rawsilkandsaffron.wordpress.comm – Thank you}
