Travel: Boutique Hotels Around The World With Views

I love spending time in my hotel room while travelling, so it is very important for me to book one that offers some views – of  the city or water, or mountains. Huge windows, and even a balcony if I can pull it off. My favorite of all hotels so far has been the Westminster in Nice, in an Ocean view room. Just in case you feel the same way as I do, here’s a list of 13 hotels with fascinating views:

Travel: Ten Lakeside Destinations Worth Your While

Taking a short trip for a few days to attend a friend’s graduation somewhere deep in the south. I’ve never been to the south so I am a little excited to make some new discoveries. In the meantime enjoy these wonderful lakeside destinations according to Conde Nast- Traveller:

Travel: Day 3 – Cotswolds

When I was in my late teens I happened to be walking past a street artist at an art festival who had on display photographs or lithographs of the Cotswolds. I stopped and talked to this man for about an hour, mostly discussions about his style of capturing art, and a little about the time he lived in the region. He was an American, and I ended up buying four framed pictures at fifteen US dollars a piece of the most beautiful cottages and street scenes I have ever seen since my days of marveling over perfectly bound European children’s fairytale books. Since then I told myself I would someday go to  ‘Cotswolds’, thinking it was a town. Until this year when I got serious about traveling through the English countryside did I learn that the Cotswolds is not a specific town but rather a number of counties in south central England, in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. what is it about rooftop restaurants

I have a favorite, which I’ve been to many time. It’s in Rome, in Piazza Navona at a five-star hotel – Hotel Raphael. This location I used in my first novel, it has much meaning to me and I spend an evening dining there every chance I get when I am in Rome. There are rooftop restaurants everywhere, and according to Bazaar online, here’s their list:

open for business: atelier300-etsy

Just in time for Christmas I’ve released four photographs I’ve taken while traveling through Europe. They’ve been enhanced by me mostly as a result of how I defined each photograph. They are available through my Etsy store for purchase, and if you plan to give any of them as a gift for the holidays, be sure to order them no later than December 10th.

edinburgh scotland – day one

It mattered not the weather is cold for a San Franciscan, we bundled up and left the hotel a little after ten in the morning to do, as usual, a walking tour – not really with any particular place in mind. It was enlightening, beautiful and I returned to my hotel finally after eight at night, understanding the ties between Montreal, Canada and Scotland.  Edinburgh and Montreal are for sure sister cities, very identical in so many ways. Oh and the food in Edinburgh, has to be the best I’ve had in Europe. Sorry Italy and France.
