This Morning’s Focus…Italy

The city (San Francisco) is not the place to be in the summer months if you are a sun worshiper, and the fact the fog is holding steady at bay, and the weather is unpleasantly windy and cold – all of it is enough for me to shift my visual focus – to simply Italy: {Click on photos for destination information}

Boutique Hotel Pick – L’Albergo della Regina Isabella – Ischia, Italy

This hotel I found, when I did my daily ritual of reading about my celebrity crush – Gerard Butler. Who is currently in Italy attending a festival of sorts and then some. I’ve been to Italy a million times, but have never ventured to Ischia. The most has been Capri.  So, it’s wonderful to discover and based on all that I have read about this wonderful destination – I am definitely in!

Travel: Let’s Talk U.S.

I seldom mention travel in or around the U.S. – I suppose it’s because I take this amazing country for granted. But I’ve made my way throughout parts of the 50 states and truth be told kind of feel envious of those that have covered all 50 or even 30. Like my old travel boss, or a couple of good friends that recently posted on Facebook a map detailing all that they have covered or seen throughout this interesting country some of us call home. Note to self – or bucket list – cover all 50 states. In the meantime, here’s a quick and dirty on America:

Travel: Paris – That’s All

The song Paris by the Chainsmokers is on repeat in my head today, and I think it’s because I’m itching to go again.  I mean I did in March, but it was only for 3 days – as you know that’s not enough. Even for someone like me who’s been there at least a week each year for as long as I can remember. So, if you are like me – craving a week or two or three in Paris – then you might very well appreciate:  Which Paris Neighborhood fits your personality best – test 2. Discover Paris from Instagram 3. Travel: A List of Island Destinations To Add To My List

When it comes to travel my bucket list seems to be growing – every time I come across one of these articles: One of 74 islands in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsundays are without a doubt one of the most beautiful of them all, if not in the world. This Italian slice of island heaven has everything going for it; surrounded by clear blue waters, a stunning cliff coastline, and white-sand beaches, Ponza has been the nation’s well-kept secret for far too long. If you’re looking for breathtaking beaches and setting foot on gorgeous white sand, then Fernando de Noronha in the South Atlantic Ocean is your next holiday destination. If you really want to spoil yourself, then head straight to the middle of the Caribbean to Saint Barthélemy. This archipelagic province of the Philippines boasts turquoise waters, hidden coves and coastal hideaways, limestone caverns to be explored, and a five-mile-long underground river. Take in the natural splendor of this island nation in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of …

Travel: Boutique Hotels Around The World With Views

I love spending time in my hotel room while travelling, so it is very important for me to book one that offers some views – of  the city or water, or mountains. Huge windows, and even a balcony if I can pull it off. My favorite of all hotels so far has been the Westminster in Nice, in an Ocean view room. Just in case you feel the same way as I do, here’s a list of 13 hotels with fascinating views:

List of Affordable Countries Around The World

I’m always researching a move to Europe. Aiming to someday retire in any number of countries. My research is pretty extensive and hopefully well projected and planned. So, if you are also thinking or wishing or in the beginning stages of planning and don’t really know where and when – you might be swayed by this list of cheapest countries to live around the world – in which I am glad Armenia – the hidden gem – made it to the list.
