odds and ends of home decor and also design

Every three to four years, I’m craving a change in my home decor and begin to gather together (long before Pinterest) ideas on what I want to see happen in my home. I’ve helped a few friends this way and all the projects we’ve worked on turned out perfectly well, taking into consideration a mixture of decorating also design ideas. Here are some of my recent loves.

interior decor: appreciation of neomodern style

Some may argue the photos I’ve included are a collection of eclectic style and others may agree with me in considering the style neomodern (Neo Modern is just such a trend: mixing everything from midcentury elements to culty mysticism for a visual crescendo). Either way, I appreciate each space, subtly adding color and a mixture of elements and texture to create a uniquely inspiring space, which in my opinion, is a style that can last a lifetime.

kitchen concepts from ikea

Over the weekend I walked into Ikea in search of a new kitchen design to build outside of my now permanent studio home. While I often times dream of white kitchens, I couldn’t help but fall inlove with some not typically my style, making it difficult to choose from. I can tell this is going to be a long drawn out process 🙂

interior decor: red, white and black

You know how they say, interior decor inspirations come from nature, well mostly that is. In my opinion, the ideas could come from almost anything and anywhere. The first time I visited Disneyland, I have to say I was completely mesmerized by Mickey and Mickey mouse’s color choices and since then I have always be infatuated with any decor which remind me of that period in my life. Can you see it below?

interior decor – setting a high standard of living

While traveling, I often visit museums, designer stores and historic palaces and fall madly inlove with the luxurious interior decor which in theory can only be appreciated from afar, unless of course you are royalty. So, to get my spirits up while running from one meeting to another to discuss issues which will never get resolved, I find a few seconds in between to sit at my desk and click through some of my favorite inspirational interior decor.
