Some of the best interior decorating ideas come from staying in boutique hotels, in addition of course to looking through interior decorating magazines. I don’t know about you, but I do get inspired from my surroundings and with camera in hand chronicle the most haute interior decors to use while creating my own style. Here are some of my favorites:
I always go back and forth on modern design when it comes to interior design and decorating. The reason I do that is because I think a home should seem less clinical and more endearing and also because since most work places are going in that direction, there should be a separation of work and what we’d like to call home. Anyway, to make my long story short, I am still on the fence, but that’s okay, I am entitled to my opinion. I have to admit, this week wasn’t the best I have had in 2012. There were a few disappointments, some annoyances, disheartening news and alot of anxiety. But what kept me going was my lunch time walks to my favorite flower shops, where I admired the most beautiful flower selection and arrangements. Well, mostly phoenies.
A challenging day overall, leading into a more stressful week has been the theme for this last week of the first month of 2012. But not everything is perfect and the best we can do is “keep calm and carry on” and of course stare at some photographs of inspirational decor.
After my transition and efforts to downsize during the past year, I have decided it is time to rearrange my surroundings just to give my dwelling a new look. As always I turn to the internet for inspiration, even though in this case, I pretty much have a feel for what I want to do with the place. But, I can’t help falling in love with…
I just can’t snap out of it, I know I have said this before, but it really is difficult to go to Europe, even for two week, then come back to the states and adjust to the every day norm. While I was in Tuscany, the day tour I took drove through some of the most beautiful landscapes in that part of the world and the guide pointed out numerous villas perched up on the hillside. Of course, every woman on the bus awed and oohed, while the husbands rolled their eyes or laughed at us for fantasizing about owning one. Now, I for one, have always dreamed of moving to Paris some day but in addition to my fantasy of living in Paris, I wouldn’t mind owning a Tuscan villa just for the summer months :). So, to make my day less gloomy, I found my villa of choice from here. Happy Monday.

First weekend of Fall and we, meaning San Francisco, experienced our first rain-ish of weather the season. You know what? I didn’t mind it a bit, because it gave me the chance to stay indoors and clean up and believe it or not get inspired about my writings. This time of year I tend to shift my attention to warm and cozy indoor places and daydream about Parisian lifestyles. So, of course, it’s no wonder I cam across some visuals here, which remind me of just that.
