plans for 2014: make it happen

January 17th already and I have to say, I have no idea what’s happened thus far. I do know however, that I’ve spent most of my days so far in meetings and social gatherings getting ideas, getting to know people and getting inspired, just in general. I have big plans for 2014 and I’ve realized in the past that if I set goals, I can actually achieve them and feel fulfilled at the end of the year, no matter how small the accomplishment. This year, I have some high expectations of myself in business and some fun plans for pleasure. Hopefully I can achieve all that I set out to do this year:

breathe – take a day from the holiday stress

I honestly can’t remember what’s happened. I swear it was only yesterday I was planning Thanksgiving Dinner with the families and now it’s almost Christmas. In talking to others and over hearing conversation, I discovered I am not alone in this thinking. Most everyone is as confused as I am about how quickly the holiday is approaching. So, to lighten our thoughts, relieve the anxiety, get us focused, and just plain insist that we relax,  I have decided to declare Friday December 20th, a day to just breathe, step away from the shopping frenzy and get together arguments and just find a way to truly enjoy the holiday season, and if you can’t find something in your neck of the woods (which I doubt) to inspire you, by all means stare at the photos below 🙂 {photo reference please click here and here}

end of year blues

I think I am starting to feel my usual end of year blues, as I woke up in a cold sweat early Monday morning, freaking out about what’s to come in the next two weeks and all of 2014. The strange thing is, I freak out like this often and then I am calm. Ready to deal, handle, execute and take care of everyone else who will freak out in due course. There are lots to accomplish in 2014 and in a way not enough time to get it all done. I know the major things that will happen for next year, but I also wish I knew how the little things in between, will pan out. In the meantime, I will spend a few sleepless nights, thinking and planning and working on organizing my thoughts and the upcoming life projects, hoping I wouldn’t over analyze. After all, no matter how much I think, it will happen anyway.

a heartwarming christmas story – westjet airlines canada

I think like most people, the majority of us have become numb, mostly expecting the worst of things to happen instead of anything positive or good. This is perhaps because of all the news available to us, in full detail. But once in a while, something amazing happens and it should be recognized and embraced, especially during the holidays. I actually cried this morning watching this video and knew I had to share it with everyone.

my first novel – piazza navona

I hesitated posting a blog entry today, which I do on occasion, while thinking about the topic and then I walked into my office this morning to discover that my first novel hit Amazon Kindle  and is in queue to become available through other e-book means: iBookstore, Sony, Barnes and Nobles, Kobo, Copia, Gardners, Page Pushers and more. My first reaction of course was that I was shocked and happy and then immediately got embarrassed for the fact, people I knew were going to read my book. 🙂 Strange, very scary and at the same time invigorating. I am proud. Very happy and a little emotional. Whatever this book does in sales, I have one thing to say. I achieved a goal I set for myself and fulfilled a dream. Now I can smile every single day, for the rest of my life.

photography: something amazing

In light of the fact, most Americans are in some sort of turmoil, wondering where this country is headed, I try to find ways to stay positive and focus on all the good and wonderful things just so I could endure.  I mean what can we do?  Change is in order and yet most of our hands are tied, unless there is a massive uproar and then – in all reality nothing will matter. While I clicked through website after another, gathering inspiration and ideas for my next blog entry, I stumbled upon this amazing photograph of where the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean meet – Elucthera, Bahamas,  which not only inspired me,  but also managed to put a smile across my worried face. I knew I needed to share the photo, in hopes it would do the same to you. Hang in there Americans, and don’t give up hope. We can overcome anything, if we find a way to at least meet half way.

interior decor with domino magazine

I love it when a company revamps their website for the better, thinking thoroughly about what they need to accomplish to stay competitive without sacrifying quality. I have to say, I was completely surprised and happy to hear Domino Magazine has made a comeback, IN FULL FORCE. They have redesigned their site, so that if you like something they used to create their tastefully unique decor, you can actually click and find the details of that particular product to incorporate into your own style of decor, eliminating all guesswork. I am inspired, inching even closer to what I need to acomplish to achieve my personal goals. Thank you Domino Magazine for filling my head with ideas. {Click here to buy Domino’s Holiday edition}
