paris fashion week 2015 – street style

Street style is just as important to Paris fashion week as the actual runway fashion introduced to those of us waiting anxiously to see what would be unveiled for this or that season. If you are as curious as I am about street style, then please click here to get inspired-street style. {source}

St. John pre-fall collection 2015

I challenge myself every year to create my style from the collections released by designers.  I don’t normally follow trend, I simply create my own.  So, here are some of my favorite wears  from St. John, which I will add to other designer pieces and create my own style – which by the way I will be launching on this blog soon.

Is It Bad To Compare Amal Clooney to Jackie Onassis – in fashion that is

I don’t know about you but the first glimpse of George Clooney’s then girlfriend, Amal, and all I could think about was how much she resembled Jackie Onassis.  A modern day version of course.   Same sort of flair I think, and I am seeing more and more each day why George has fallen in love with this mediterranean beauty and brains. Lucky for some of us,  Bazaar has posted some of Amal’s most stylish looks, which naturally I love. Take a look and let me know what you think?

fashion: I have to admit i kind of love this

I haven’t been able to shake off the French Riviera, mostly the fashion statement each and every woman makes there. More particularly in Cannes, Monaco and St. Tropez. The sad thing is, we cannot duplicate such fashion here in San Francisco.  The interesting pieces are more welcomed in  Los Angeles, Florida, and possibly New York. But not here. Although I do wonder how it would be if one SUNNY day I venture out into the street wearing one of Moschino’s latest collection,  or maybe I simply have to move to the French Riviera.

fashion: sarah jessica parker shoes at bloomingdale’s

Naturally, Sarah Jessica Parker and shoes go hand in hand, or shall I say, foot in foot (sorry couldn’t resist). So Bloomy’s has paired up with the fashionista who I admire greatly in style and acting, and they have introduced SJP shoes. Here’s a glimpse. {photo source and credit}

st. tropez and back in a day

Monday I woke up after eight with the bright idea to venture to St Tropez. I figured even if it was after ten in the morning by the time we were ready we could catch the next train to St Raphael to connect to the bus-cheapest way to St Tropez. We queued up in line at Cannes train station to buy our tickets. The sales clerk offered us seats on the sncf with reserved seats on the way to St Raphael and open ticket to get on any train for the return 19euros per person, since I explained I had no idea what time I wanted to come back. We boarded the 1130am train since it was the next available and within twenty minutes arrived in St Raphael. Having done this before I knew that directly to the right of the train tracks there is the bus depot connecting to St Tropez. What I forgot about was the fact it was still off season and buses were scares. Which meant the next bus was at 1pm …

fashion: looking younger, feeling classy

I watch the show Younger on television, the show naturally targeted to the 40 something’s. Each episode is better than the next, funny, very relatable and downright on point about a 40 something trying to fit in after her husband (surprise) leaves her. She transitions into a 20 something year old to be able to get a job, and be accepted in general. Lucky for her, her only daughter is away in College or traveling through Asia, and isn’t around to judge. 😉 The fashion is mostly what caught my attention with the creators of the show dressing the main character Eliza tastefully to communicate perfect her youthfulness, without compromising elegance or class, something most women over 40 needs to consider.  With that said, I have to share with you what I consider fashion to looking younger, yet feeling classy:
