Boutique Hotel Pick – Hotel Tresanton – Cornwall, England

I fell in-love with Cornwall, From St. Ives to Truro – the Coastal towns making up all of Cornwall in the United Kingdom took my breath away and my mind wandering off to happy thoughts and I managed to temporarily forget all my worries at home. This region of England is a gem I think and not so easy to get to if – driving on the wrong side of the road – has you cringing. But, when there is a will there is a way I say – so carry on and make your plans to visit coastal Cornwall – starting right here:

Travel: In Celebration of Ireland

Although St. Patrick’s Day is tomorrow – some of us folks begin all the festivities today, at work and after work, and well into Saturday :).  Any reason for a good party, we Americans believe.  Although last year, while in Scotland on St. Patrick’s day I got a bit of the partying there too in Edinburgh, with a pop up outdoor (really indoor due to the unpredictable weather), bar, and a week long celebrating throughout the fair city. So, in celebration of Ireland, I have listed a few fun facts, just to prep you for some good old-fashion beer chugging and conversation.

Travel: Planning Stages Have Begun

This morning alone I noticed so many of my friends, and those in the same blogging world have planned a trip to Paris – a girls getaway is the theme of their travel. Which got me in the mood to begin my planning. I am aiming for late May-early June this year and hope I can manage a three-week getaway mostly because of logistics. Dog-sitting, care for an ailing mother, and so on. You know the drill. So, here is what’s trending in the midst of what I am considering for my getaway:

Boutique Hotel Pick – The Westbury – Dublin, Ireland

For sure the travel series is about to go full-swing here on Raw Silk and Saffron, and the first up is my boutique hotel pick. First one for 2018 – The Westbury in Dublin – a centrally located property embodied with excellence, from decor to service. This property is one I’ve book for an upcoming trip to  Ireland.

Travel: For The Adventurist at Heart

For some people the norm is boring – you know the week long island vacation, sipping a tropical drink by the poolside, or a 7-day museum pass for Paris to spend a week indoors, staring at art and then there is the pasta lovers trip that’s been overdone – according to some. So, if you fall into the category of sitting across your travel partner over Saturday morning breakfast asking yourselves ‘where to go?’ consider the following adventure geared, from this list for best 2018 travel destinations:

Travel: The Best Resorts In The U.S.

I love tourists, especially when I see them about the city (San Francisco) discovering the usual and some venturing out to the avenues to see the beaches, and hopefully a little of the city’s culture outside of the norm. I always feel like I should add my two cents when I see tourists on a street corner, with map fully opened, trying to figure out a bus route. I want to say, hey follow me to my neighborhood and try this restaurant or pub or simply take a walk through the blocks and check out the colorful homes perched along the streets. But I let them be, and only offer up advise when I am asked for direction 🙂 So, dear lovely tourist who are planning a trip to the U.S. – this article is for you – the best resorts in the U.S. for getting back to nature: For more go here

Travel: Ancient Caves In Montreal

I think the most fascinating thing about travel is the idea that there is possibly another world under the one we live and travel in. It’s certainly the case in the middle east, Europe, Asia and some places in the U.S. – But recently a discovery was made in Montreal – one of my favorite cities in the world – and the network of ancient caves discovered under this fair city. But if underground doesn’t interest you much, then consider adding the amazing overground destination to your list of places to see this year. Preferably late Spring through Autumn. Take a tour or walk leisurely around the city to discover the rich history, and the blend of the old and new.

Travel: Planning for 2018

My favorite topic and hobby is travel and so I think we best start discussing the subject to plan the most ideal getaways for 2018: Here’s a list of changes to be expected: Checking in will be a thing of the past. Robots will be there to assist you instead, In Flight Wi-Fi will improve. Biometric IDs will integrate, airports will become more pleasant, international travelers will have more choices, you will talk your way onto a plane, the gap between the front of planes to the back will become greater, comparing flight pricing will become more difficult (does this mean we would rely on travel agents again?)
