prelude to a trip

I don’t think that excuse “its a Monday” is valid anymore. I’ve been busy nonstop for the past two weeks. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday AND repeat  🙂 – so yesterday a friend of mine kidnapped me for lunch and forced me to step away from the piles of work sitting on my desk, overflowing to the floors around my office and after our delicious tuna sandwiches at Boudin’s – one of my favorite eateries in the city, I insisted we stop off at the Nespresso coffee/flagship store in San Francisco and pretend just for a second we were in Europe. It worked, pumping me up for my upcoming trip abroad – across the pond to be more specific. Just thought I’d share to hold us all over until I can focus on my writings hopefully very soon. {my photo: please ask if you’d like to borrow}

january 2014 – thirty day recap

I  told myself I’d recap each month to see how much progress I’ve made with my goals and to strive for more in the upcoming month.  This may sound a bit too-driven for some, but it’s the only way, the older I get, the more I get the things I want done. So for January: Adopted  healthy eating and a weekly exercise routine. I’ve focused more on healthy thinking and a positive outlook. I’ve allowed myself to be photographed eight times in January, I’ll pop my photos on my blog, here and there. I’ve signed up with a marketing plan, online promoting, book signing and committed to paperback printing  for my first novel- all in the Month of January. I’ve signed on to http://www.Lumosity.com and have picked up watching The Carrie Diaries just to stay in touch with my youth. Have you achieved your goals so far? Do share.

vacation planning in full swing

Okay, one week into the foggy “almost” summer in San Francisco and I am ready to plan my annual trip to Europe.  Well, mostly Italy and France, of course. I’ve been everywhere else and since want to just be in Italy and France. 🙂 This year, as usual we are taking our two weeks early September to explore parts of Italy and France, I haven’t been to in a while and some I frequent every year. Paris and Rome. As I plan my rail travel route and schedule, I have to say, I am over the moon about the trip and feel the first week of September is ions away.  Stay tuned on this one, I cannot wait to share.  In the meantime, have a great weekend and if you feel like it, drop me a line, about your travel plans this year or just your recommends and favorite places in Italy and France.

seasonal inspiration

As many of you may know, San Francisco, mostly outer, is probably the worst place to be during the summer months if you happen to be a sun worshiper.  It’s foggy, cold and somewhat uninspiring. This past weekend was the first reminder of how summer may very well be in the city, when I sat the entire weekend, working on my book, in my sweats, blanket, thermal socks, drinking hot tea.  Believe me I wasn’t happy. So, for those of us, stuck in this wonderful city, mostly in the avenues, I recommend, escaping at least one day out of the weekend, just to get inspired, while frolicking 🙂 in the sun.  I’ve already planned my list of things to not my spirits go dow. 1. Drive to Napa for a day to picnic in V Satui Winery- here 2. Spend a day at Burlingame Avenue shopping and enjoy lunch  in an outdoor cafe – here 3. Drive Inland, South or East anywhere there is water, sun and grass – here and here 4. Visit Muir Woods …

happy blog anniversary from wordpress.com

Over the weekend, WordPress.com sent me a happy blog anniversary note, which was nice and I do appreciate it very much, since I’ve started this blog three years ago, but for some reason, this year has been the most challenging, in terms of blogging. Just to give you a bit of background. Most blogging sites offer you an option to track your visitors and determine which topics work and what really doesn’t. Year one, I was fine with the wealth of information and blogged accordingly. Year two my blog sky rocketed and I was completely and utterly pleased to know I was on the right track. January of this year, all of a sudden, the wealth of information provided from, what appears to be, all blog hosting sites, instantly diminished and have become inaccurate, disheartening and even discouraging. I am now unable to tell the accurate number of followers, interested in topics and much more. When I reached out to WordPress, they expressed it was something google had changed and not to pay too much …
