I’ve always had plants in my bathroom, no matter how small the space or how big. I just think, its therapeutic and a nice color to add to any decor. Mostly leafy greens that is. Recently however, I’ve tried several plants in my space and for some reason, they haven’t bloomed as I had hoped. Either it’s too moist for the plant or too dark a space. However, when I saw this idea here, I couldn’t help but consider copying the suggestion. It’s simple, clean and hopefully will work. I don’t even mind seeing the roots. The only set back (maybe) is the fact, I’d want to change the water perhaps. Either way I am going to duplicate the suggestion and see what happens. Have you any ideas you’d like to share, about plants in a bathroom and what works and what doesn’t.
When I was a child, maybe six or seven, I received a tin can full of wrapped candy in cellophane. Instead of being excited about the contents of the box, I was more impressed with the art work on the four sides of the box. As a child I had no idea what it was but stared at the art work for years on end, impressed by the beauty of it. It was a dark room, with checkered floors and the only light was from a small window, reflecting against it. When my family was migrating to the states, I asked to take the box with me. I cherished it and it was the only reminder of my wonderful childhood. Since then, I’ve been to museums throughout Europe and have learned enough about art in school, to know that particular painting etched unto the four sides of the box was inspired by Baroque Dutch Oil Paintings. I was in love with the flooring then and I have remained that way since. Because of my fascination …
Normally, while I wait for the bus, I stand and look around to keep myself busy. But not this morning, I decided, the images before my eyes were worth capturing on my Iphone 4s. {photographers are the property of http://www.rawsilkandsaffron.wordpress.com. The past three days, it was extremely hot in San Francisco and although it was a pleasant change from the cold and fog, it aggravated alot of locals. Very strange bunch, we are, the city folk. I, on the other hand, did everything in my power to stay out as long as I could to enjoy the sun and the heat, so after work I walked over to Union Square and enjoyed a nice dinner outdoors atop Macy Department Store, over-looking the square. When I finally made it back down to the street level, I couldn’t believe how amazingly hot it still was even at 8p.m. So, naturally I grabbed my hubby’s cell and snapped some photos of the light effects in San Francisco on a hot Indian Summer night. {Please don’t borrow the photographs without my permission :)}
I go through many phases while contemplating my life and since “the wedding” last month, I have been in a retro mood, so it’s no surprise that I would fall madly in-love with the below photos, which I found here. I am not sure who the creative mind behind the photographs is, but based on the style, Grace Coddington, creative director of Vogue most definitely comes to mind. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it if you would drop me a line or two. Anyway, love these fashion photos which take me back to an amazing era in fashion.
Being a part of the over 40 crowd, I tend to, like others in my league, occasionally analyze whoI am now when I interact with the 20something crowd. Don’t ask, it’s a woman thing. To sum up where I am going with this, I have included two photos which best showcase what I was like as a person in my twenties (left) and how I see myself now over 40 (Right). And to be honest with you, I like me now the best 🙂 What do you think about yourself, do you prefer your twenties or your forties?
