Recipe: Soup and More Soup

Right about now all I crave is soup. Most of the time buying ready-made cup from my favorite Soup Company. Although tasty, I want to cut down on the amount of salt restaurants usually add to their recipes. So I made a list of my favorite soups compiled here from various blogs and food sites – which I think will keep me going through this winter season: 1. Chicken tortilla soup recipe 2. French onion soup recipe 3. Chicken Lemon orzo soup recipe 4. Pumpkin pesto soup recipe

Holiday Gift Ideas: Romantic Ski Weekend Package USA

More than any material gift, I prefer a good weekend getaway, a romantic one if I can make it happen. Although simply being tucked under a blanket in front of a fireplace, with views of white powder from every window in a cabin is romantic enough, with or without someone by your side. With someone is always best 🙂 If you happen to be like me, where traveling is your idea of the perfect gift, then consider , this, or this, or this,  or this for that special someone in your life.

Holiday Shopping Guide: Banana Republic Men’s Wear

The beauty of public transportation when commuting to work is that you get to see the fashion sense among the men in your neck of the woods. I mean men do have it just as hard – dressing to fit in this society.  Some men hit it out of the ballpark with their choice of outfits – like one guy who steps into the train every day impeccably dressed, looking like a model from GQ. And then there is the guy who you can tell woke up in the clothes he is wearing, and got on the train every day looking well – not so ideal. I like a man who makes a conscious effort to look his best, even if he is wearing a simple pair of jeans and a T-shirt. Okay you get my point. Anyway, we all know every store on the planet is having a sale and it’s really difficult to keep up, so I am going to do my best to share with you my picks – in this post …

Holiday Shopping Guide: Secret Santa Gift Ideas

I remember years back when we did Secret Santa at the office, I received the most bizarre gifts ever, surely disappointing. Because I always took the task seriously and shopped thoughtfully even for that someone not so special in my life. I think in my world secret santa gifts have become very popular – where even large families, friends and other sort of acquaintances are opting to go that route for the gift exchange. So for this and that, I’ve made a list of my favorite for the 2015 secret Santa gift ideas: Oh and there is more, click to find your way to that perfect gift {source}

Design Decor: Interesting Finds About San Francisco

My city has come a long way, evolving into a prestige metropolis, well planned out over the past twenty-plus years and still going strong, integrating many improvements and modern architecture, while preserving some of the city’s historical elements. I love it. Spending days walking downtown studying the progress, snapping too many photographs of the past and the future to chronicle bygones-I’ve seen done in so many photographer’s coffee-table books. My favorite one shelved at my dentist’s office 🙂 If you are anything like me, you might appreciate the following tidbits about San Francisco, and maybe plan your travels to witness some of the upcoming changes. {To read about the SF street improvements click here}

Food: Caramelized Onion Focaccia Bread

The best Focaccia bread I’ve had, was in Portofino, Italy at any of the number of bakeries aligning the narrow pathways leading to the water’s edge. One in particular was Panificio Canale. I stuffed my face at one sitting or standing actually since there is no space to take a seat inside. And then brought some to go – which hardly lasted past the night. In San Francisco I often search for the best of   Focaccia in our Italian neighborhood, North Beach, and although I find them here and there worth a try, they are not the same as the ones in Portofino. For this holiday season I decided to contribute to the get-togethers with home-made Focaccia, hoping to capture a little bit of Italy here .
