For The Love of Autumn

If someone were to ask what my favorite season was I’d probably change the order depending on the time of the year. Meaning: In mid-March I’d say Spring was my favorite time of year. In June I’d say summer, and nearing September I would switch to Fall/Autumn. But yesterday afternoon I stepped out to my garden, in the crispy cool-ish air to examine my plants, which were beginning to show signs of distress. Side note: I once had an amazing garden in another home. But for some reason I am struggling with my current nothing-but-sandy-soil. I realized that I truly adore the fall season and all of its glorious colors…why is it so? Go here for 40 fall recipes Here for fall desserts For the baker, this is your season

Latest Fashion Finds

We were given a choice back in March to either return to the office or work remotely or both. I chose remote as I feel I get more done at home than actually in a bustling and noisy office environment. But I do miss getting dressed up, casual of course for San Francisco. Putting on some makeup and actually spending time to tame my curls – I enjoyed the ritual before the pandemic. For a year now, I have steered clear from all things fashion. Mostly because I do have a walk-in closet full of clothes and shoes I am wondering what to do with since I made the decision to work permanently remote. Also the fact, most of my weekends are spent outdoors, sometimes in a very rugged environment, where it is better to dress according to the adventure planned rather than rotating my neglected clothes. So then why am I falling for these? Have you returned to the office?

Fashion: Autumn Wear Even For The Casual Weekends

On Sunday I was invited to breakfast with a friend and since the weather was super cold, I opted for warm athleisure wear, tennis shoes, no makeup and hair up in a messy ponytail. And then I arrive at the restaurant, and the first thing I noticed was how chic some folk, mostly the women were dressed to the occasion. Then I felt self-conscious of course, and vowed that I would make an effort to rummage through my closet and create these looks for the holiday brunches, and shopping  I plan to do over the course of the next few weekends.

Looking Forward to October

The first day of the month, and only 90 days to the end of the year. But no worries, October is a month I look forward to, especially after the sluggishness and the unmotivated I felt by the end of August, and all throughout September. To me, October is the month to shed all the negative and just enjoy the most brilliant of colors, the layering in fashion, the shift in decor,  comfort food in recipes, and the prelude to the holiday planning.  October is the coolest month of the year. What Film to see, what recipe book to buy, and where to vacation in October

Fashion: Fall Coats for 2019

The best ‘weather’ in season for San Francisco is Autumn, in that we get our Indian Summer – hot sunny days, and cooler evenings and we can literally see the moon at night (no fog). So thinking about coats for that season right before Winter sounds weird to us locals.  But, I can’t help share a few of my favorite coast from this list of twenty stylish fall coats for 2019 {featured image source and inspiration for today’s blog post} On another note – just started watching Mozart in the Jungle – and at first hated it, and now I am very curious to see the progression/story unfolding. Have you seen it? Will you see it? Does the show interest you or not your cup of tea?

Fashion: Dresses for The Mature Woman

Or as I’d like to call it – those over 40, since sometimes maturity has nothing to do with wearing age-appropriate or those that compliment the figure. But then again, if it makes a person feel good, by all means, I say flaunt it as you vision it. But just in case you are curious, here’s what’s suggested and as always my favorites below. Let me know if you agree or disagree, if a certain dress code should be followed after 40. On another note – are you as excited as I am about the Downton Abbey Movie – which opens in the U.S. on September 20 {featured image source and credit}

Fashion: Almost Fall In Style

The chilly air this morning, had me searching for fall wear to work – and a sweater a few grades thicker than the summer one, and with that in mind, all I can focus on is all things fall. {source}     {source} On Another note – I long to be in the Scottish Highlands – if I can spend time here
